Homeschooling: The Newest Trend in Christian Education
There has been a movement that has occurred the last several years. That movement has involved homeschooling children so they are able to get a Christian education. More parents than ever have decided to take their children out of public schools in order to give them a strong Christian education.
There are several reasons parents are doing this. First and foremost, many parents feel as if public schools have abandoned religion. For many, the last straw was when prayer was banned from schools. Many parents feel that if their children cannot pray in school, they are being taught their religion is wrong. Because of that, they are teaching them at home.
Another reason some parents are choosing to home school their kids is because of the teaching of evolution in school. Many parents are not comfortable with evolution being taught, and because of that they are teaching them about creationism at home. They feel they cannot get a strong Christian education while learning about evolution so they start with homeschooling.
Most of all, parents are homeschooling their children at home so they can teach them the Bible along with their other school work. They are able to give them an education that is based in Christianity. For many parents, this is very important. Public schools cannot give that kind of education, so parents are choosing to do it on their own.
Parents who have extra money can choose a private school as opposed to home school. Those who can do this are able to give their children the Christian education they want without having to teach them themselves. This is expensive and not an option for all parents, which is why so many parents are choosing homeschooling over private schools.
Providing children with a Christian education is becoming increasingly important to parents. Now parents are moving toward finding that education for their children, whether it is at home or in a private school.
