Baptist church

The True Definition of Church

By Adherents.com

Biblically speaking, church is not a building. It is not a place with stained glass windows and pews that house people who are believers for one to two days a week. It is not a place that people sing. The building on Sunday is just a building. A church is when two or more people come together to worship and learn about God.

When people think of church, they often think of it as somewhere they need to go. They feel they need to get dressed up and go to church, but that could not be further from the church. Home church negates the idea that church is another place. Through the ideas of the home church, church is anywhere. Church can be in your home, or out in the yard. Church is anywhere that people can learn about God and the Bible.

The philosophy behind home church is quite simple. Small groups of people get together and learn the teachings of the Lord. They then work hard as a group in order to serve those people in need. They also love their enemies and try to do what is right at all times.

Home church can be viewed as the pure form of religion. Unlike other religions that are tainted through organization and self serving purposes, home churches peels away those extra layers and brings religion back to what it used to be. It is once again about God instead of money and seclusion.

Home church is meant to include all. Anyone who wants to share in the word of God can take part in home church. There are no leaders, only servants. The servants work together to form a better place.

Those who are interested in home church only need one other person and a Bible. At that point, they can get started on their learning. They will then be able to spread the word through their own knowledge and the guidance of the Bible.
